The goal
Missed appointments and long reminder call lists cost a dental office time and chair slots. The goal was reminders that go out on their own, with replies that come back to the front desk in one place.
What we built
- Automated or one-click reminders for appointments, recalls and pending treatment plans, by text and email.
- Two-way text messaging, with a desktop alert when a patient replies.
- Online patient forms that arrive as PDFs, so paperwork is done before the visit.
- Online appointment requests, where patients see open times and ask for a slot.
- Reports on new patients, recalls, service history and scheduled appointments.
How it works
eagleReminders is a web portal that practices open from any computer, and it works with the practice-management programs Eaglesoft and Open Dental. Practices pay for the texts they send, with no contract and no setup fee, and can try it free for 30 days.
What we learned from running it
- Build for support, not only launch. A product that runs for years needs updates, customer support and room to change when the software around it changes.
- Keep the front desk's job simple. The people using it are busy with patients, so every extra step costs them time.
